Some people aren't happy with the new choice for Louisiana State Education Superintendent, John White. The Louisiana Association of Educators and their president, Joyce Haynes, says that the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education waived its own rules to please the Governor. She says, "many qualified educators and administrators were disrespected  when BESE declined to even take applications  for  the job."

White responded by saying that he thinks they chose him because they wanted the person who would get the best outcome for kids. He says that his track record speaks for itself.
