Teenage Boy Arrested After Fight Nearly Turns Deadly

An argument at home ends in a 14-year-old son getting charged with attempted 2nd degree murder.

Lafayette Police spokesman Corporal Paul Mouton says it happened before 8:00 a.m. Monday morning at Petunia Loop. Investigators say the 39-year-old victim was involved in a disturbance with the boy's mom, when the teenager allegedly took out a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the chest.

The victim is in critical condition while the boy was booked into Juvenile Detention. Police continue to investigate.
