Teenage Boy Killed In Metairie Shooting

METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Jefferson Parish sheriff’s deputies say a 15-year-old New Orleans boy was shot and killed in the midst of a large crowd in Metairie.

Col. John Fortunato identified the victim of Thursday night’s shooting as Joey Davis.

Fortunato says a deputy responding to a disturbance call on nearby street spotted the crowd, heard gunshots and saw the crowd scatter, leaving behind a young man lying on the ground.

The deputy chased an armed suspect who was seen running into an alleyway, but the gunman managed to get away.

Davis was taken to LSU Interim Public Hospital in New Orleans where he was pronounced dead.
