Facebook users have been copying and pasting a status update that lists the ten things we learned from the recent flooding in South Louisiana.

UPDATE: It didn't take long for us to find out the original author of the 10 Things We Learned From The 2016 Louisiana Flood was Hammond restaurant owner Anthony Donze.

Donze owns Blackened Brew in the Hammond area, and his original post that has now gone viral somehow took on a life of its own as a result of being shared on Facebook walls throughout every parish affected by recent flooding.

Anthony was at his office when he saw so many of his friend heartbroken and down about the flooding that was destroying their homes, so he wanted to do something to put a smile on their faces.

The original title of his Top Ten list was "10 things I think we in Tangipahoa Parish and surrounding areas learned in the 100 and 500 year floods."

Overnight, Donze's post was shared nearly 5,000 times and to date it has been shared over 60,000 times—and that's not counting all the different "versions" of his post that have gone viral.

As you can tell, the list had been modified with changes and additions before I saw it on social media compared to Donze's original post back on August 17, but the Hammond restaurant owner says that it doesn't bother him one bit.

If it's making people smile, I'm cool with it.

While he was cool with people sharing his post, he did find some people using it to make a profit, so he decided that it would be in his best interest to trademark his list—and with that trademark he has printed up shirts with 100% of the proceeds going directly to flood victims.

Anthony says his restaurant and his home fared well in the flooding, but he witnessed firsthand the devastation that others are currently trying to rebuild from and wants to do something good to help his neighbors.

The list continues to be shared left and right by those affected in both the Acadiana and Baton Rouge areas and as many continue the cleanup efforts and others begin to put their lives back together piece by piece, it definitely isn't bad to get a little Cajun comic relief that we can all relate to.
