Texas Man And Woman Arrested In I-49 Drug Bust
Louisiana State Police, along with help from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, says they found over 15 pounds of cocaine inside the 2004 Ford F-150.
Trooper Stephen Hammons 21-year-old Virgina Garcia of Houston, Texas, was the driver; 33-year-old Manuel Gama of Houston, Texas, was the passenger. They were stopped Sunday for a traffic violation on I-49 southbound at US Highway 190.
Garcia has been booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail for improper lane use and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine. Gama has been booked for possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.
The seized cocaine has an estimated street value of over $152,000.00. Police continue to investigate.
