6:24 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012: Lafayette Police say Frances Watson was arrested by Louisiana State Police on Friday, April 29, 2012. All of the money stolen from Iberia Bank in Lafayette and the weapon she allegedly used have been recovered. Watson now sits in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

6:17 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012: A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Texas woman believed to be responsible for robbing an Iberia Bank in Lafayette Saturday.

Corporal Paul Mouton with the Lafayette Police Department says 49-year-old Frances Watson of Austin, Texas, allegedly walked into the Iberia Bank on Congress Street and threatened the clerk with a knife.

"The clerk turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect and the suspect exited the bank," Mouton says.

Witnesses say the woman drove away in a dark-colored vehicle, possibly an 1980's model Buick.

Watson is described as a white woman, about five foot five, and 180 pounds with long hair. The car she was driving had a Texas license plate.
