Nicholls State University in Thibodaux is the home of the 4th annual Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival. The festival starts today and will last until Sunday. Quintin Fontenot, the organizer of the event, says, "it's a musical celebration of south Louisiana culture with an impressive Cajun Zydeco lineup."

The weekend will be packed with events such as free Cajun Zydeco dance lessons today at 3:30, many different bands throughout the entire weekend, crafts and vendors and more. Tickets are $10 a day or $25 for the whole weekend. Children under 11 get in free. The schedules for the bands can be found here.

Fontenot also says to come hungry because many different Louisiana food vendors will be there. He says you can expect to see dishes like shrimp po-boys, jambalaya, catfish, white beans and much more.
