The Real Reason These Flowers Taste So Sweet

Have you ever eaten a flower? I have. They usually come as a garnish on some fancy pants plate at a restaurant I can't really afford but my wife wanted us to try. It's a good thing the wife makes the money and can afford to take me to places that don't feature a value menu.

Now back to the flowers. They look good enough to eat, don't they? That's because they are not flowers. They are cupcakes. These are the cupcakes  Piece of Cake delivered to my wife for her birthday yesterday.

I thought I was just having some cupcakes sent to my wife's office on behalf of my daughter. What I discovered was the artistry and talent of Morgan Reed. Morgan is the "Cake Boss" at   Piece of Cake. She promised something special and boy did she under promise and over deliver.

As an aficionado of all things edible quite often I find pretty cakes don't taste nearly as good as they look. These cupcakes blew that theory right out of the water. The cake was soft, moist, and delicious. The frosting was delightfully delicate and had just the right amount of sweetness.

I never knew such wizard with piping bags existed and walked amongst our midst. I can honestly say that the next time I need something sweet, special, and delicious it will be "Piece of Cake" for me to figure out.
