The Iberville Parish truck stop will be keeping the Tiger for now after a Baton Rouge appeals court threw out a ruling that barred state officials from issuing any new permits. The ruling came in favor of the stop for the reason that the owner of the stop deserved to be heard. The matter will be going back to District judge Mike Caldwell for another hearing. This all stems from the Animal Legal Defense Fund suing the state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to have the tiger removed from the Interstate 10 truck stop. Only attorneys for the Animal Legal Defense Fund and the state took part in the first hearing.
