The vote for the job of Louisiana Education Superintendent starts tonight. The State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education will be meeting to vote on John White,  the man up for the job.

White happens to be the Governor's choice and has been pushing him for election to the Board members.

Several new members of the board that started only two days ago will be called to vote as well. But, some members think that this isn't enough time. Member Lottie Beebe, of Breaux Bridge said that she and other new BESE members should be given more time to learn about John White so that they can decide for themselves to if they wish to vote in favor of his appointment.

BESE President Penny Dastugue says White is a young man and has the qualifications for the job and has served effectively as head of the Recovery School District.
