The Sunset Fire Department is taking donations to give to local evacuation centers. Drop off at Sunset Fire Department, Sunset Police Station and Sunset town hall.

Hospice of Acadiana is in search of donations for our 2016 Thrift Sale and now is the perfect time for you and members of your organization to take a peak around your home for unwanted items you no longer use to make space while cleaning up for a cause. Read more.

The Delcambre Shrimp Festival has been rescheduled to this weekend. Events include a shrimp cook-off, queens pageants, fais-do-do's, food booths, carnival rides, and the blessing of the shrimp boat fleet. There's plenty of fun for "kids" of all ages and lots to see, hear, and eat! Read more.

This Saturday, August 20th, from 8am-4pm will be "Pio Pickup" at Notre Dame Gym, 910 N Eastern Ave., in Crowley.  Clorox, Dawn dishwashing liquid, buckets, mops, cleaning supplies, gloves, water, non-perishable food, baby products, trash bags, toiletries, etc. Anything BUT clothing. Volunteers will help those in need with manual labor.  If you know of someone who is in need of work in their home, please email Mandy Miller (mmiller@ndpios.com) before Saturday with the information and the help needed (pulling up carpet, cutting sheetrock, etc).
