Three suspects have been arrested for an armed robbery of a Dollar General store in Opelousas

Sheriff's spokesperson Maj. Eddie Thibodeaux reported Kory Chenier, Dillon Charlot and Rakiesha Green were arrested Tuesday.

Deputies responded to a call of an armed robbery in progress at the Dollar General store in the 8500 block of La. 182. Upon arriving, deputies witnessed Chenier and Charlot fleeing the store. One of the suspects was carrying a shotgun that was left at the scene.

The suspects ran towards the back of the store where Green was supposed to be waiting in the getaway vehicle. But Green told police after her arrest she said she saw the headlights of the deputies' vehicle, panicked and drove away without the other two suspects.

Green was later arrested when she was stopped on La. 10. She gave a recorded statement admitting to driving Chenier and Charlot to the store to commit the robbery.

Chenier and Charlot were located and arrested yesterday. Chenier gave a recorded statement admitting to his involvement with the robbery.

The suspects, their charges and their bonds are posted below.

  • Dillon Charlot, Opelousas; armed robbery with a firearm, warrants for an outside agency; Bond: $150,000.
  • Kory Chenier, Carencro; armed robbery with a firearm; Bond: $100,000
  • Rakeisha Green, Lafayette; principal to armed robbery with a firearm, traffic violations from pursuit; Bond $55,000
