Three Arrested For North Street Murder In Rayne

Three men are behind bars in connection with the Dec. 6 murder of Mohammed Abdullar Nur in Rayne.

Rayne Police Chief Carroll Stelly said investigators determined the victim was killed during an armed robbery in the 400 block of West B North Street.

The suspects include:

• Joseph "Chuckie Leblanc, 25, 700 block of Reynolds Street, Rayne
• Gavin John Hamilton, 27, 600 block of North Marie Street, Rayne
• Rakeem A. Yokum, 25, 600 block of Karen Drive, Rayne

The three suspects were booked into the City Jail on charges of principle to first degree murder and are awaiting bail to be set.

Stelly said more arrests are expected in the ongoing investigation.
