Concerned citizens in Vermilion Parish are being applauded for their help in three drug arrests.

Sheriff Mike Couvillon says 43-year-old Donnie Patterson, 27-year-old John Mire and 36-year-old Jeana Menard, all of Kaplan, now sit in jail on possession charges including oxycodone and methamphetamine.

"(I) would like to applaud the concerned citizens of Vermilion Parish for their awareness and assistance in helping the Sheriff’s Office in fighting the war on illegal drugs," says Sheriff Couvillon. "(I) encourage all citizens with information in regards to illegal drug activities to contact the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office or the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit at 337-740-4501 or E-mail the Task Force anonymously at taskforce@vpso.net and your e-mail will be held in the 'strictest of confidence' and replied to in a very timely manner."

  • Donnie Patterson (dob 8-25-71) of Kaplan, arrested and charged with possession of a schedule II narcotic (oxycodone)
  • John Mire (dob 1-17-87) of Kaplan, arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of a schedule II narcotic (Suboxone) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Jeana Menard (dob 6-13-78) of Kaplan, arrested and charged with principal to possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
