Three teenagers and a preteen in St. Mary Parish were arrested Tuesday in relation to incidents on a school bus and at the St. Mary Parish Alternative School.

According to sheriff's office officials, a school resource officer was alerted to a disturbance on a school bus just after 8 a.m. Tuesday. During the investigation, it was learned that a 13-year-old Centerville male student punched another student in the face. The teen was arrested and released to one of his parents.

In another incident, a 14-year-old Franklin man and a 15-year-old Bayou Vista man were arrested after a school resource officer responded to a fight at the Alternative Schools. Both teens were separated and arrested and were released to their parents.

Another incident at the Alternative School occurred later in the afternoon in which a deputy assigned to the school broke up a disturbance in the school's cafeteria. The deputy learned that an 11-year-old student threatened another student with a piece of broken glass. The student was arrested and released to a parent.
