BASILE, La. (KPEL) -- Louisiana State Police is investigating a three-vehicle crash in Acadia Parish that killed one person Saturday night.

According to Troop I spokesman Stephen Hammons, 26-year-old Dwayne Griffin of Kinder was driving his truck westbound on U.S. Hwy. 190 when for some reason, he crossed over the center line and crashed into another truck. Hammons said Griffin then crashed into an SUV.

Griffin was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to Hammons. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Griffin died from his injuries, he said.

The drivers of the other two vehicles, 32-year-old Rogelico Rico of Elton and 23-year-old Isidro Mendoza of Ville Platte, were both wearing their seatbelts, and neither of them were injured.
