Tie-Breaker Election In Cameron

Cameron Parish will host the state's only special election as a tie-breaker on Dec. 17 to resolve the District 1 Police Jury run-off.

Cameron Parish Clerk of Court Carl Broussard said the November runoff votes, certified Tuesday, showed 178 cast for each candidate — incumbent Sonny McGee and challenger Curtis Fountain.

Broussard says the runoff tie marked the second for the parish in the last four years.
