The world is an ever-changing place and some of the traditions that shaped my childhood seem to be going by the wayside. One thing that makes me beam with pride is the Pledge. More than anything, my Uncle Al taught me the respect of the flag, the National Anthem and The Pledge. He will stop, stand and put his hand over his heart when he hears either of them being recited.

Love of country is something I want to pass along to my kids, so along with our prayers before bed, I am teaching my 2-year-old the Pledge. As you can hear, in her blossoming little mind, the Pledge may as well be a prayer. She ends it with AMEN.

And to that... I say "AMEN!"
