Tootie Landry visits the Dominican Republic and swims with the sharks in this edition of "Not Necessarily The News."

"Hey! I’m Tootie Landry and this is what I found out today! I just got back from an 8-day vacation to another third world country. I love going to these places because I always come back so grateful I get to live in the U.S.A. I also am reminded of how thankful I am for the little things in life… ice, transportation, air condition, and soft drinks that aren’t flat!

On my vacations, I always like to include some kind of adventure that gets me “out my box.” This trip I decided to go swimming with the stingrays and sharks. I have to admit, this was a scary excursion even for me!

After arriving at our drop off site and signing my life away to two 19-year-olds, I’m starting to think this may not have been one of my best ideas. However, I’m a Pisces, so I have to believe I have a little Jacques Cousteau in me. But folks, when a 14-foot shark swims below you and nearly brushes your flippers, O.M.G.! I liked to $%*#!

And finally, this experience was awesome despite the fact this song (see below) was in my head the whole time, “Fins to the left, fins to the right, and you’re the only bait in town!”

And I’m Tootie Landry and this is “Not Necessarily the News!”
