There's a change of leadership in the state tourism office. Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne says Jim Hutchinson is resigning his position as assistant secretary of the Office of Tourism, effective Nov. 11.

LeAnne Weill will serve as acting assistant secretary until Dardenne, working with the Tourism Development Commission, conducts a nationwide search for Hutchinson's permanent successor.  According to Dardenne's office, the assistant secretary is the top job in the Louisiana Office of Tourism and serves at the pleasure of the lieutenant governor. The job duties cover all of the state's tourism efforts, including advertising, public relations and Internet marketing contracts.</P>
