Top State Budget Adviser Jay Dardenne Suffers A Heart Attack

Louisiana State Commissioner of Administration Jay Dardenne is recovering after suffering a heart attack over the weekend. The governor's top budget adviser was taken to the hospital after he woke up feeling pressure in his chest. Further tests confirmed a blockage.

Dardenne told the Advocate. “My wife Cathy took me to Our Lady of the Lake hospital where a heart catheterization revealed some blockages. I’ve been treated and remain alert and very thankful. I am heeding my doctors’ advice regarding rest but look forward to returning to work as soon as I’m cleared.

Dardenne was released from the hospital on Monday is said to be resting now.
