Tornado Watch Posted For Most Of Acadiana

The U.S. Weather Bureau has issued a Tornado Watch for most of Acadiana until 7:00pm. The threat of severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall amounts continues until Midnight.

According to the KATC Storm Team 3 Weather Lab a tornado watch is in effect until 7:00 pm for areas including Acadia, Allen, Avoyelles, Calcasieu, Cameron, Evangeline, Jefferson Davis, St. Landry and Vermilion Parishes.

Further the tornado watch is in effect until 10:00 pm for Lafayette, Iberia, St. Mary and St. Martin Parishes.

Severe storms may produce tornadoes, damaging wind, hail and frequent lightning.
