Traffic Stop In Jeanerette Leads To Drug Arrest

Three people were arrested on drug charges by St. Mary Parish Narcotics detectives after a traffic stop near Lockett Road #1 Friday evening.

Detectives say they found multiple drugs while thoroughly searching the car.

Officers found multiple bags of marijuana along with a large bag of cocaine that has a street value of around $11,400.

They also discovered a container that held 11 large pieces of crack.  Detectives say the crack has a street value of around $15,500.

Agents also found a bag that had Xanax and Lortab pills in it.

Police confiscated $4,700 that they believe is money derived from drug sales.

Courtney Charles and Lenord Howard of Jeanerette were arrested along with Daniel Ray Miller Jr. of Franklin were arrested in the case.

Each person arrested is listed below along with their address, and the charges against them:

Lenord Howard, 25,1016 Cypremort Rd, Jeanerette LA, was arrested on February 20, 2015 at 5:17pm for the following charges:

-     Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute

-     Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute

-     Possession of a schedule II narcotic with intent to distribute (Lortab)

-     Possession of a schedule IV narcotic with intent to distribute (Xanax)

-     Transactions involving drug offenses

Daniel Ray Miller Jr, 26,211 Cedar St, Franklin LA, was arrested on February 20, 2015 at 5:17pm for the following charges:

-     Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute

-     Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute

-     Possession of a schedule II narcotic with intent to distribute (Lortab)

-     Possession of a schedule IV narcotic with intent to distribute (Xanax)

Courtney Charles, 28, 149 Highway 318, Jeanerette LA, was arrested on February 20, 2015 at 5:17pm for the following charges:

-     Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute

-     Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute

-     Possession of a schedule II narcotic with intent to distribute (Lortab)

-     Possession of a schedule IV narcotic with intent to distribute (Xanax)
