HAMMOND, La. (AP) — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office reports an overnight arrest following a shooting that wounded a man in Ponchatoula.

The shooting happened at a convenience store Sunday night. The victim was shot in the face and was later listed in stable condition at a hospital in New Orleans.

Tangipahoa Sheriff's spokesman Dennis Pevey says in a Monday morning news release that 54-year-old Kenneth "Baron" Baker, was arrested in connection with the shooting. The arrest came during an overnight traffic stop in Ponchatoula.

Baker was transported to the Tangipahoa Parish jail. Booking details were not immediately available.
