Traffic Stop Yields Thousands In Synthetic Marijuana

A traffic stop in St. Martin Parish has taken $4500 in synthetic marijuana off the streets. Major Ginny Higgins says officers conducted a traffic stop on I-10. When the driver, 24-year-old Marwan Hijaz exhibited unusual behavior throughout the stop, officers obtained permission to search his car, revealing the drugs. Hijaz is in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on drug related charges.
