Trial To Examine If Detroit Eligible In Bankruptcy
DETROIT (AP) — An unusual trial starts today in Detroit in which a judge will determine if the largest public bankruptcy in U.S. history can go forward.
The trial pits Detroit's emergency manager against unions and pension funds that claim the city isn't qualified to wipe its books clean.
Detroit is at least $18 billion in debt.
