The Ferriday Trojans' size and athleticism proved too much down the stretch as they knocked the Loreauville Tigers out of the playoffs by a score of 32-18.

It was a great back-and-forth contest until the 4th Quarter, which was owned by the Trojans.

Loreauville got the scoring started off as Freshman QB Zy Alexander connected with Senior Je'Dan Jacob from 26 yards out for an early 6-0 lead in the 1st Quarter. But Ferriday responded quickly as Senior QB Ronald Williams ran into the endzone from two yards out to tie the score at 6.

That score would hold until halftime.

But the 3rd Quarter would see plenty of fireworks from both teams as the Tigers kicked off the half by getting the first score. Shae Lee raced 35 yards for the touchdown and a 12-6 lead with 11:18 left in the 3rd Quarter.

But Ferriday responded on the ensuing drive as Williams connected with Junior TE/WR Dantreize Scott, tying the score up at 12.

On Loreauville's next possession, Alexander hooked up with Jacob once again, this time for 69 yards, going back on top 18-12.

But that was the last lead Loreauville would enjoy as Ferriday ripped off 20 unanswered points. First, Senior RB Dominick Jackson scored on a two-yard run with 3 seconds left in the 3rd Quarter. Williams then converted the two-point conversion by running it in, grabbing the Trojans' first lead of the ballgame, 20-18.

As the 4th Quarter wore on, Ferriday began to separate itself as their defense came up with big stops. Junior Jerrius Scott stepped in front of an Alexander pass and took it all the way back for a pick-6, increasing their lead to 26-18.

And Senior RB Milak Hampton put the nail in the coffin, scoring from five yards out, picking up a fumble from Williams and taking it to the endzone.

The loss ends a great season for Loreauville and sends Ferriday to the quarterfinal round against the winner of Madison Prep/Mangham.
