New laws concerning the use of the middle turn lanes on multi-lane roads are confusing to drivers.  Today on ‘Mornings With Ken and BernieTrooper Stephen Hammons stopped by to clarify the law some.

According to Trooper Hammons it is now legal to use the middle turning lane on a multi-lane road as a merge lane.  Hammons said,

“The turning lane can be traveled up to 200 feet, not 200 yards, when merging into traffic from a private driveway or parking lot.  When doing so you must use your turn indicator to let oncoming traffic know in which direction you are headed.”
