Trooper Stephen Hammons joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today and explained that a ruling has been determined concerning left turns on red at J-turns.  Hammons said,

After discussions with Department of Transportation officials and examining accident reports it has been determined that left turns on red at J-turns will not be permitted.  Drivers who do turn left on red will be ticketed.

With the long Thanksgiving Holiday looming Hammons urged drivers to leave early when traveling to avoid the stress of rushing.  According to Hammons,

Many accidents and fatalities could be avoided with proper planning and of course the use of seat belts.

Hammons said patrols will be beefed up this weekend and troopers will be enforcing a zero tolerance of impaired drivers.
