56 offshore petroleum platforms have shut down as Tropical Storm Don makes its way across the central Gulf of Mexico. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement say the shut down will affect just under 12 percent of the Gulf's daily oil production, along with just over 6 percent of the natural gas
production. Personnel have been evacuated from only four of the 62 drilling rigs currently the Gulf.
