The original Tropical Storm Warning issued for the track of Karen was from Grand Isle eastward, but KATC TV-3 Meteorologists say the storm's new track is a little more westward, but very similar to the earlier forecast.

The new Tropical Storm Warning is now in effect from Morgan City eastward to the mouth of the Pearl River.

This new information reflects an upgrade from a Watch that was in effect.

The storm has weakened and now has winds of 50 miles per hour.

Karen is located at 25.6N and 90.2W or about 250 miles South Southwest of the mouth of the Mississippi River.

Karen is moving North Northwest at 10mph and the central pressure is near 1003mb.

Karen is still expected to move northward toward the mouth of the Mississippi River, then turn northeast Saturday into Sunday as a strong cold front pushes in from the northwest.

Impacts are still expected to be minimal across the Acadiana area.
