A man in his yard at around 2:30 this morning says that he was robbed and shot in the shoulder.

The Lafayette Police Department says they have two 16-year-old juveniles who have been charged with unauthorized use of a moveable and armed robbery in connection with the case.

Police say the 49-year-old man was in his yard on Pearl Street when a truck pulled up and stopped.  A suspect got out of the truck, asked the man for a cigarette lighter, pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim's money.

The man gave the suspect the cash in his wallet, and as he turned to go inside of his house, he says the suspect show him once in his shoulder.

The suspects fled the scene in the truck, but the truck was located a short time later in the 600 block of Goldman Street.  Three suspects fled.

The two teens were captured, and police are seeking a third suspect that they believe was involved in the incident.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.

The shooting victim was taken to an area hospital, and he is listed in stable condition.
