Two Arrested For Trying To Bring Contraband Into The Iberia Parish Jail

Two people were arrested last night by the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office for allegedly trying to bring contraband into the jail.

Sheriff Louis Ackal says 20-year-old Courtney Washington is alleged to have tried to bring baggies of "a green leafy substance" into the jail.

The substance is believed to be marijuana.

Washington was arrested as was 34-year-old Christine Davis. Davis was driving the car the two were in.

They are charged with "attempting to introduce contraband into a correctional facility".
