Lafayette Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested two Lafayette men for aggravated burglary and attempted second-degree murder.   Deputies says that the two were arrested after a reported break-in which left one man in the hospital.

Deputies were called out to the 1300 block of Roper Road after 5 a.m. this morning.  Deputies found two people who lived there who both had cuts.  Investigators say that four men armed with handguns and knives forced their way into the victim’s home.

Police say one person was cut deeply in her leg as she was trying to get out of a window to get away from the suspects that were trying to hurt those in the home.   The second victim, deputies say, was stabbed multiple times.

Detectives say that several things were taken from the home before the suspects left, and that police arrived on the scene after they had gone.  Later, deputies say they found a car that was said to be at the victim's home at a home on Inwood Street in Lafayette.  Deputies made contact with two of the men involved in the incident and some of the stolen items were recovered at the Inwood home.

Doctor Edmond, 25-years-old, and Corey Fox, 20-years-old, have both been booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on chargeds of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Aggravated Burglary.

Both victims remain hospitalized but are expected to recover from their injuries.
