It began when the two didn't yield to the a stop sign at an intersection and ended with the two behind bars on a slew of charges.

25-year-old Brad Derouen and 22-year-old Harley Rentrop, both of Bayou Vista, were pulled over on Tuesday by detectives with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division after police say the pair nearly collided with the detectives' police unit near the intersection of Saturn and Teche Roads. Once Derouen and Rentrop were pulled over, officers say they found a methamphetamine pipe and a digital scale in the vehicle after smelling a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Detectives say they found illegal drugs on Rentrop, along with cash believed to be derived from illegal drug sales. Ultimately, detectives say Rentrop and Derouen had been selling illegal drugs.
