Two Brothers Arrested In Opelousas Shooting

Two brothers, 17-year-old Charles Davis of Melville and 20-year-old Elton Vaughn, Jr. of Simmesport, now sit in the St. Landry Parish Jail after allegedly shooting someone over an unpaid drug debt.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says Davis and Vaughn confronted the male victim, with Vaughn allegedly threatening the victim with a handgun in front of his family. Sheriff Guidroz says hours later, Vaughn allegedly located the victim in the Opelousas city limits and fired two rounds as he drove by.

Davis is facing 4 counts of principal to aggravated assault with a firearm while Vaughn is facing 4 counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and 6 counts of simple assault and a hold for Opelousas Police Department.
