**UPDATE** Two Dead Following Apparent Murder-Suicide in Opelousas

St. Landry Sheriff's officials have identified the woman shot in the Opelousas murder-suicide as 36-year-old Indra Marie Q. Sarong-Jones.

Lt. Clay Higgins said the Sheriff's Office communicated the news of her death with her family who lives in the Philippines.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating an Opelousas shooting that has left two people dead.

Sheriff's spokesperson Lt. Clay Higgings told KPEL,  the initial investigation shows that the double shooting was a murder-suicide that occurred around 6 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Glen Street.

Higgins said one of the deceased was identified as Avery Lennon Aubyn Jones; the other person shot was his wife, but her name has not yet been released. Higgins did not disclose who the shooter was.
