1:16 p.m. Friday, July 20 - Lafayette Fire Chief Robert Benoit tells KPEL more information will be available after the autopsies of two people who were found dead in a Lafayette home this morning.

Benoit tells KPEL that several units responded to the fire at Pinhook and Magnolia around 7:15 this morning.  He says the home was fully engulfed in flames, and "flames were shooting out of the roof".

Benoit says the identities of both of the victims are being withheld while next of kin are being notified.

A portion of Pinhook was shut down this morning as crews worked to put out the blaze along with cleaning up the scene.  Benoit says they will continue to investigate and wait until a coroner's report before they plan to release more information.
