30-year-old Brian Reyes of New Iberia and 42-year-old John Brown of St. Martinville, both former deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, now find themselves on the other side of the jail bars.

According to St. Martin Sheriff's Office spokesperson Major Ginny Higgins, Louisiana State Police conducted an investigation into an incident that happened on May 22, 2013, which involved the two men. Higgins says their office requested the investigation.

 

 

 

Reyes and Brown each face the following charges after turning themselves in:

  • 1 Count – La. RS.14:123-Perjury
  • 1 Count- La. RS.12:133-Filing or Maintaining False Public Records
  • 1 Count- La. RS.14:134-Malfeasance In Office

Each man faces a bond of $15,000.00. That's $5,000.00 for each charge.
