LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Lafayette Police arrested two men Saturday night after they allegedly mugged a man at gunpoint and then stole his car.

Cpl. Paul Mouton says the victim was washing his car on N. Pierce St. when two men, later identified as 17-year-old Gary Broussard, Jr. and 18-year-old Rondell Williams, approached him and demanded money.

After taking his wallet and jewelry, the two suspects forced him into his car and demanded him to drive them to the intersection of Martin Luther King Dr. and Patterson. The two men then forced the victim out of the car and drove away.

A short time later, Mouton says the car was pulled over, and the two men were arrested.

Mouton says police found the stolen property and the gun used in the robbery.
