A special task force commissioned by Lafayette Interim Police Chief Reginald Thomas today announced two arrests in unsolved murders. 26 year old Dwayne Carmouche Jr. of Breaux Bridge was charged with accessory after the fact of 2nd degree murder in the shooting of Dwayne Batiste Jr.. A second warrant for accessory after the fact of 2nd degree murder was issued for an unnamed suspect who will be named after an arrest. 33 year old Cody Brown who is presently incarcerated at Angola State Prison was charged with 2nd degree murder. Dwayne Batiste was shot in the 800 block of West Gilman on November 21, 2014.

In the second case 22 year old Traven Solomon of Lafayette is charged with 2nd degree murder in the shooting of 21 year old Damien Champ on June 30, 2015. Solomon is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
