A manhunt yesterday afternoon ended with the arrest of two men, both fleeing  a possible home invasion in Acadia Parish.

According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, a resident called into 9-1-1 around noon to report some suspicious activity in the 9400 block of Airport Road.  The caller said they thought there might be a burglary going on at the location.  A deputy who arrived on the scene said he saw a man allegedly kicking in the door of a home.

Melancon said his deputies, investigators, K-9 units and law enforcement from surrounding agencies spread out and started to search for the two men.  They got a break around 1:00pm when a 9-1-1 call came in from a person that said their home in the 7100 block of East Whitney near Morse was burglarized.  Because of that call, police were able to track down 25-year-old Ronald Joseph Junior and 19-year-old Ross Elijah Chaisson just before 2:00pm.  Both are facing charges of simple burglary and home invasion. District Judge Kristian Earles set their bond at $250,000.

Sheriff Melancon said that they were able to recover some items taken, which were found in a white Ford Expedition the two men were driving.  Melancon said that three more burglaries in the Morse area were also reported.  He said the investigation is ongoing, and he adds that additional charges are expected.
