20-year-old Hermandus D. Semien and 18-year-old Abselon Tobias Herbert have been arrested for their alleged roles in a string of burglaries and attempted burglaries in the Opelousas, Ville Platte and Eunice areas. This comes after a week long investigation coordinated by the three cities' police departments, along with La. State Police.

Simien was arrested Sunday in Ville Platte. Opelousas Police Chief Perry Gallow says they found one of the stolen firearms in his possession, along with some illegal narcotics. Herbert, according to Chief Gallow, turned himself into the Ville Platte PD after he was made aware that officers were looking for him.

Officers were able to so far recover five of the eight weapons taken from the Ez-Pawn shop in Opelousas in a burglary that occurred on April 6, 2014.

Semien and Herbert are being booked for Simple Burglary in Opelousas, and face more charges from the Ville Plate and Eunice Police Departments. Authorities continue to investigate.
