Two New Iberia Men Injured In Early Morning Shooting

Two people in New Iberia suffered minor injuries Monday following an early morning shooting.

Captain Ryan Turner with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office says they were called out to the Shot Street home in New Iberia after getting reports of shots being fired.

"Upon deputies' arrival, they learned that two people suffered minor injuries from gunshots," Turner says. "One person received a gunshot to the lower back and the other was grazed by a bullet."

Both victims were taken to a local hospital, and police are still looking for the shooter. If you have any information, you're urged to call police.
