(KPEL) — Deputies in Acadia Parish have arrested two Scott men following an altercation in which a piece of a man’s nose was torn off.

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon says the fight happened Wednesday night at the Black Gold Casino truck stop near the Duson exit of Interstate 10.

The two suspects, 30-year-old Timothy Hutchinson and 25-year-old Blake Joseph Hebert allegedly beat up the victim in the parking lot, Melancon said. Deputies learned the victim had cautioned a woman to watch out for snakes as she was walking in a nearby field.

Hutchinson and Hebert allegedly approached the victim shortly after and beat him, biting off a piece of his nose in the process.

Hutchinson was arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery. His bond has been set at $1,000.

Hebert was arrested after police in Scott executed an arrest warrant at his home. He has been charged with aggravated battery, and his bond has been set at $3,500.

Both men are in the Acadia Parish Jail.
