Two Suspects Arrested In New Iberia Burglaries

Two men believed to be responsible for a recent string of burglaries are now behind bars.

Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal says Devante Charles (no birthplace given) and Devonte Chentlen of New Iberia have been charged with four burglaries that have happened over the past two months in New Iberia. Sheriff Ackal says the burglaries happened on Frederick, Sydney, Walton and Jefferson Streets.

More arrests are expected. Detectives continue to investigate.

Devante Charles is charged with four counts of simple burglary and one count of accessory to aggravated burglary.

Devonte Chentlen is charged with four counts of simple burglary, one count of attempted simple burglary and one count of accessory to aggravated burglary.
