A call by a concerned citizen leads to an attempted robbery being stopped by police officers on July 30th.

“Our officers received a call in reference to a disturbance where two subjects were in the parking lot of a local hotel with firearms," says Crowley Police Chief K.P. Gibson. "As officers arrived in the area, they located the vehicle described as being involved in the incident leaving the area."

Chief Gibson says the caller was able to go inside his hotel room, located on the I-10 frontage road, and call police after locking himself inside. 18-year-old Trent Duhon and 17-year-old Trevor Duhon, both of Rayne, have been arrested after police say they were caught with four firearms, one which was reported stolen from another parish.

Trevor Duhon was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail for attempted armed robbery, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and illegal possession of firearms. Trent Duhon was booked for principal to armed robbery and possession of stolen property.

“The officers did a good job by locating the vehicle and confirming that the vehicle matched the suspect vehicle before stopping them. By using good teamwork, the officers were able to make the arrest without putting themselves or our citizens in great danger” stated Chief Gibson.
