LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- The man who was allegedly driving drunk when he caused a major crash last week has turned himself.

Lafayette Police Cpl. Paul Mouton says 23-year-old Jamuse Broussard turned himself in Tuesday at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

Mouton says the child died at a Baton Rouge Hospital after the crash.

Mouton Broussard was drunk when he crashed into the the GMC Sierra the child was riding in.

In addition to the vehicular homicide charge, Mouton says Broussard is also charged with OWI, driving under suspension, and failure to yield while turning left.
