Tyreke Evans will officially be signing a contract with the New Orleans Pelicans after a sign-and-trade was agreed upon between the Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, and Portland Trail Blazers.

As part of the deal, the Pelicans will also receive rookie Center Jeff Withey, who was drafted 39th overall in last week's NBA draft by the Portland Trail Blazers.

However, two New Orleans' starters from last season will be wearing new uniforms next season. Point guard Greivis Vasquez will be heading to the Sacramento Kings, while Center Robin Lopez will be a Portland Trail Blazer. Guard Terrel Harris, who played in 20 games last year for New Orleans, was also traded to Portland as part of the three team deal.

The Pelicans backcourt next season will have three explosive offensive performers. Newly acquired All-Star point guard Jrue Holiday, holdover shooting guard Eric Gordon, and Evans all possess an innate ability to get to the rim. Evans is a combo guard, and can also spend time playing small forward. All three players have known each other since high school, when they played together in the AAU circuit.
