Ukraine Military Chopper Shot Down Near Slovyansk

DONETSK, Ukraine (AP) — An Associated Press reporter says a Ukrainian military helicopter has been shot down by rebels over Slovyansk in eastern Ukraine.

The AP reporter witnessed the helicopter's downing amid today's fighting in the city. It wasn't immediately clear what weapons the rebels used to shoot it down, where the helicopter fell or what happened to its crew.

Slovyansk has become the epicenter of fighting between pro-Russia insurgents and government forces in recent weeks.
